Overall Job Purpose:

To adopt the focal lead for the UKPS Project Coordination team resources. By applying and demonstrating high standards of project coordination services to ensure these standards of service are adopted, respected and maintained by others in the Project Services Team. The role requires organisation and communication skills with SCH Project team members as well as other internal departments, external customers and third parties in order to provide project coordination services to other UKPS Project Managers. The role will also scope the delivery of any aspect of specific project management as defined by the UKPS Project Services Team Leader or thereafter the assigned Project Manager.

Main Duties:

- The jobholder will be responsible for the assignment of coordination resource for scheduling and logistic roles, typically focussing on and assigning a specific set of tasks or activities within a project to a specific coordinator
- To liaise with other Project Team Managers, SCH Account Managers, SCH Sales Support Teams, SCH Operations and/or Commissioning Centre, third parties, other PS functions, Customer users and staff
- To provide adhoc support to the UKPS Project Services Team Leader in areas such as Production of Management Information Statistics (MIS) including resource utilisation and revenue forecasts, Risk & Issue Management and Corrective Action Implementations
- To oversee the establishment, maintenance and operation of project delivery schedules, tracking and reporting mechanisms as defined in specific projects
- To establish, maintain and update all team training and development records
- To maintain the assigned PS project documentation libraries
- To provide the first point of contact for coordination teams requiring to escalate operational issues
- To ensure the Project Services BMS and PRISM database is updated and populated with accurate information of specific project status
- To participate in any pre-agreed pre-sales work, to the extent of assisting with the production of estimates for coordination effort required for new customer proposals
- To define, track and report project status

Training & Qualifications:

The post holder will be expected to attend both internal and external training courses as identified by the UKPS Project Services Team Leader as being necessary. Any seminars or presentations being attended will require a de-briefing report for use by other members of the Project Services Team.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

They will have the ability to concentrate on multiple issues at any one point in time. They will need to be organised, lateral thinkers, practical and apply common sense where appropriate. Typically from engineering, consultancy or management background with experience in the IT industry. The post holder will assist Project Managers in the delivery of complex projects or if appropriate, take responsibility for the delivery of projects of lesser risk.

- To be fully conversant with PRISM and any other methodologies in use by SCH Project Services e.g. PRINCE2
- To be familiar with the running of the PS financially systems
- Time management and accounting, report writing and presentation skills
