My client, a leading software company, are looking for a 1st line support engineer to join their busy support team based in Chippenham.

The role as a 1st line support engineer will involve supporting both their in house infrastructure but more importantly supporting their own bespoke software and hardware based on their client sites. You will be expected to be the first point of contact for all issues and try to resolve all technical issues in a quick and professional manner, if you are not able to resolve the issues then you will be escalating the issue to their 2nd line support team.

The correct candidate will have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and will be genuinely enthusiastic about it and be looking to move into 1st line support. Experience within both a Windows and Linux environment would be highly beneficial as would knowledge of basic networking principles and databases. You will be willing to go the extra mile to ensure that all issues are resolved to the best of you ability. As you will often be the first point of contact with their clients then your communication skills will be very strong and be able to deal with people in a professional manner.
