Description:
To ensure the effective delivery of IT services and solutions to enable Asda to meet its strategic and operational objectives in one of three key business areas: operations, merchandising and multichannel business channels.
Responsibilities:
• Build strong relationships with the business to understand the strategies, business plans, issues and requirements for the business area
• Own the IT roadmap for the business area, articulating how technology will drive and support the business vision
• Work closely with the business to build IT business cases to underpin new business initiatives or operational improvements
• Bring external knowledge of the industry and market place
• Create strong links and improve the overall perception of IT working between the business and IT teams
• Operate effectively as a key member of the IT management team and work closely with colleagues to add value across all areas of technology and commercial initiative.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Delivery of technology based business change within a large scale, distributed business environment
• Track record of establishing and building effective relationships at board level and able to establish credibility through an understanding of the business drivers
• identification of business needs; management of expectations and demand for the provision of IT services and solutions
• Expert and extensive experience gained in one of the three business areas of operations, merchandising and multichannel
• Knowledge of technology solutions, trends and techniques
• Knowledge of the retail sector is preferable.
• An ability to articulate complex technical solutions to a variety of business opportunities
• Leadership qualities, able to lead, motivate and develop a team
