Development Manager - Major Public Facing E-commerce Platform - Birmingham

FTSE 250 Retail & distribution organisation based in the West Midlands is embarking on a strategic web & e-commerce Programme to revolutionise their major B2C and B2B on-line product offering. As a result they are looking for a highly experienced internet Development Manager to manage a team of .NET / C# Developers and take ownership for the performance and functionality of several high profile Websites and associated content management systems.

The Development Manager will report directly to the Head of Ecommerce and have strong experience managing multi tiered enterprise websites including Web services & SOA architectures and management of both live, development & test environments. In particular the Development manager will focus on delivery of new 'back end' platform, driving standards, development process and conducting code reviews of ASP.net, C#, OO, UML, N-tier, javascript, HTML, CMS etc.

The successful Development Manager must be commercially aware and astute with the ability to deliver architectural change, databse design & optimisation and infrastructure improvements as well as exemplary people management skills. This is an exciting and high profile role that has many technical & managerial challenges.
