This major IT Player, firmly established as a Leader in their area of expertise, are recruiting for an IT Technical Services Analyst to provide expert technical analysis & fault resolution to all desktop related problems and assist IS colleagues in the resolution of infrastructure and software related support issues.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide second line fault resolution against SLA for desktop related technology
Ensure that all requests and incidents logged with the IS Service Centre are progressed and resolved and the customer is updated as defined in the SLA
Establish, develop and maintain credible working relationships with business contacts, being an ambassador for IS
Keep IS colleagues, team leaders and managers regularly informed of the status of specific resolution activities
Recommend opportunities and participate in the delivery of activities that will improve overall customer satisfaction and ensure continuous improvement of the service that IS delivers to its customers.
Essential Experience/Skills :
Security Cleared to SC Level
NETWORK –
Switch technology and patching, IP addressing, VLAN’s, LAN connectivity, WAN Connectivity, FC and CAT5 connectivity.
Server Hardware - Monitoring and maintaining HP Server technology. Utilisation, configuration and implementation of ILO. Server hardware builds, including memory, CPU, disks and PCI interfaces
Workstation Hardware –
Workstation builds including hardware
MICROSOFT (EG - OS, AD, SQL) -
Monitoring, management and maintaining of Windows 2003 R2 OS
Experience in WINS, DNS and DHCP in large environments and across WAN infrastructure
Problem identification and resolution using known Microsoft tools and techniques
Management of Windows 2003 Active Directory (creating users, reset passwords)
Some knowledge of VBS and XML for login script editing
GPO management and Software Restriction policy management
Understanding of FTP, Telnet and other transport protocols
Outlook Email configuration
Internet Access with understanding of proxy connectivity
Use of XP under a Domain controller GPO policy
Microsoft SMS -
Package distribution and reporting
Microsoft SQL
Manage and maintain SQL databases
SHAVLIK
Patch distribution and reporting
VMWARE
Use of VMWare client and manipulation of interface
Monitoring and maintaining VMWare VC and ESX hosts (UNIX knowledge required for ESX Hosts but not essential)
Use of Snapshot manager within VMWare
NETAPP
Monitoring and maintaining NetApp filer with associated snapshots, snap mirrors and CIFS management
Understanding of SAN concepts
Restore files from filer
MCAFEE
Able to perform McAfee Updates
Manage and maintain McAfee databases
Perform administration duties within McAfee Admin console.
BMC PATROL
Use of the BMC Patrol console for monitoring
Any experience in KM management and SQL statements is desired.
VERITAS
Tape removal and backup management
Use of VERITAS reporting console to verify backups, perform problem identification and resolution
Desired Experience/Skills Formal qualification (Microsoft Certified Professional).
