Software Developer - VB6 / SQL Server / ASP / JavaScript / XML – St Helens

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Developer to join the team at a forward thinking Services Provider in the St Helens area.

Skills – VB6 / SQL Server / ASP / JavaScript / XML – You will be a dedicated developer who enjoys the challenge of being involved in the full life cycle of projects. You must be confident in all aspects of development in ASP and VB6 and you must be working with a SQL Server backend. Some experience with ASP.Net and VB.Net would be an advantage in this role. You must be an expert in both XML and JavaScript with a strong background in web based development. Any experience of using Sharepoint would be a bonus. Exposure to Microsoft CDO or TAPI interfacing would also strengthen your application. Alongside your technical skills, you will be a great communicator as a large part of the role will involve liaising with internal clients. Due to this, you must have experience in a customer facing role.

Role – You will play your part in a dedicated team as you get involved with development, integration and interfacing of web based apps and services. The role will involve consultation with both internal and external customers as you ensure developments progress as planned. It will be down to you to investigate new opportunities for the company to progress in terms of technologies and development platforms and you will be encouraged to input ideas at every stage. Documenting your work will be vital to ensure that all development adheres to the set procedures at all times.
