SQL Server DBA. SQL Server Database Administrator. Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, paying between £30,000 to £35,000 per annum.

Due to our clients continued success, they are looking to add a new SQL Server Database Administrator to the team. The successful candidate will help to support the live database infrastructure and within the DBA team. The teams are responsible for the provision and support of Development, Quality Analysis, Disaster Recovery and Live environments which are primarily SQL/SSRS environments.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide support to ensure that all databases are maintained to the highest level
• Ensure that all critical data is backed up to the relevant media and data restores are tested regularly
• Work closely with Development and Server teams to ensure that the best Database solutions are deployed
• Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises, provide databases support as required. Report any DR issues to the relevant departments
• Ensure that all Databases systems are available in accordance with our SLAs
• Ensure that databases are monitored via approved monitoring tools, review and test on a regular basis to ensure that alerting is fully operational, thresholds are meaningful, metric data is archived for historical analysis. Provide training and documentation for Operations staff as required

Essential Skills:

• In depth SQL Server 2005/2008 administration experience
• Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability
• Good working knowledge of T-SQL and stored procedures
• Application deployment, configuration and management
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of SSRS 2005/2008, deployment and support
