The Company:
Our client is an expanding organisation who has invested heavily in their business this year and as a consequence has increased their revenues dramatically and are now seeking an IT Manager to join their successful team.

Job Responsibilities:
This role is an ideal opportunity for someone who is ready to progress their career from either a technical, programming or technical support role, into a wider context. The key skill required is the generic knowledge and experience to allow communication with non-IT staff. Ideally you will have worked in a similar environment which has high volume production of quality end products.
* Ensure day-to-day running of the live work-flow system
* Manage the release of new software into the live environment e.g. ensure that adequate testing & documentation has taken place.
* Final tests in live, planning release dates to coincide with business peaks.
* Focus on errors, logs, events, and problems
* Ensure other staff (on-call and shift) from development and tech support teams are able/have the tools to adequately manage problems, especially out of hours.
* Proactively look for, identify, and manage problems/events/issues
* Interact with business to evaluate implications of production cycles and plan capacity and events, both in the short and long term.
* Directly supervise one member of staff.

Preferred Skills:
* Will need good tech skills to troubleshoot problems that don’t come under technical support
* Organisational Skills
* Good all round awareness of technical issues e.g. basic SQL queries, networking, windows server, albeit not necessarily an expert in any of these.
* A good technical all rounder.
