We are looking for a Junior Developer for a company provides web enabled membership management software and associated specialist Membership Administration Services.
They require a well-trained programmer with practical experience who has gained a Computer science or Engineering qualification at degree level (2:1 or higher; or MEng) and has a penchant for coding languages. Working as a software developer within the Development Team, you will need to display a wide range of skills to encompass Database and Mobile Application development.
You must be able to work alone and to very tight deadlines.
Purpose:
1. Software design and modification management; managing software enhancements and new implementations of the product.
2. Handle own workload and inform Development Manager of any issues and delays promptly.
3. To be a secondary liaison point for Customers with regards to the development work carried out on customer systems.
4. Diagnosis and solving customer membership issues and problems, liaising with the Account Manager and the Support/Development teams.
5. To perform other duties as directed by any Director of the company as may from time to time be required.
Level Of Responsibility:
1. To complete work within the timescales set and to the standards set.
2. To liaise with Mentor on a regular basis.
3. To liaise with Project Management and Co-Ordination staff regarding development of project work, informing them of the progress of a project at regular stages.
4. To liaise with the Support Department, assisting them with calls that are logged, helping to move these to a satisfactory conclusion for the customer and company.
5. To provide daily updates on completed work to the Development Manager.
6. To liaise with Development Manager regularly, regarding progress and training requirements.
Essential requirements:
1. Coding ability to write new programs and edit existing code.
2. Fault finding within new or existing code.
3. Personable nature, with good telephone manner
4. Accurate, numerate & literate
5. Ability to work on, and use, own initiative
6. Willingness to undertake new projects, tasks & responsibilities and see them to completion
7. Keen to learn new skills
Preferable requirements:
1. Experience of Contact Management System
2. Knowledge of contact management administration.
3. Knowledge of database, and or membership administration
4. Basic Unidata, Unibasic and SB+ knowledge
