Overall Job Purpose:

SMTC (Secure Multi-Tenant Cloud) is the SCC Cloud Solution for Government and Public Sector organisations.

Working in an implementation role within the Data Centre team, this role is specifically aligned to the transition of customers onto the SMTC cloud solution.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working on a multi tenant technology stack and development of the automated process required to 'industrialise' such a solution.

Additionally, the role will provide a focal point for complex, 3rd line support issues within the SMTC cloud infrastructure.

The role requires a good knowledge of IT security and the associated strategies. As a security specialist, you will work with other security specialists within the group to maintain and develop the platforms.

The suitable candidate must be SC cleared or be willing to go through and obtain SC clearance. Failure to get SC cleared would mean the individual would be unacceptable in the role, and it would be a condition of employment.

Main Duties:

- Use of the relevant scripting technologies to maintain automated service solutions (e.g. Automated Server provisioning)
- Development of Patch Management processes and analysis of threats against multi server environments
- Ongoing security log analysis and Incident Management
- Awareness of Government security policies such as SPF v5 and HMG/CESG policies
- Mail and web filtering solutions and support from the cloud or dedicated solutions
- Security technologies such as EPO, DLP, Port Control, End Point Protection
- OS security hardening of Microsoft (and Linux) environments
- Threat mitigation techniques such as DOS, DDOS, and malware
- Work with the security team on the formulation of incident reports to present to the Security Operations Manager
- Using ITIL tools for updating call records for the tracking and resolution of escalated issues

- Microsoft Windows server 2000 / 2003 / 2008

- Linux Redhat Server
- MessageLabs (Symantec Cloud)
- Syslog Server deployment and analysis
- Microsoft WSUS Server or SCCM
- Server build standards
- Symantec SIM
- Certified Ethical Hacker / Licensed Penetration Tester
- CISSP / CCSP / CCSE
- Use of scripting languages
- Support of firewall technology, preferably Fortigate, CheckPoint and Cisco ASA

Key Levels of Experience;

- 3-5 years experience in Data Centre service departments
- Knowledge of implementations projects
- Proven communication skills
- Experience in production of documentation and procedures
- Understanding of government security requirements
