Overall Job Purpose:

SMTC (Secure Multi-Tenanted Cloud), is the SCC Cloud Solution for Government and Public Sector organisations.

Working in an operational role within the Data Centre team, this role is specifically aligned to the on-going management and support of the SMTC cloud solution.

As part of a SMTC 2nd and 3rd Line resolver group, the primary function of the role is to provide proactive service monitoring of the SMTC Technology stack.

Main Duties:

- Operational management of the technology stack
- Management of incident and problem tricks
- Capacity management of the technology stack
- Use of the relevant scripting technologies to maintain automated service solutions (e.g. Automated Server provisioning)
- Security log analysis and Incident Management
- Management of the Patch Management processes and analysis of threats against multi server environments
- Awareness of Government security policies such as SPF v5 and HMG / CESG policies
- Management of the mail and web filtering solutions
- Management of security technologies such as EPO, Port Control, End Point Protection
- OS security hardening of Microsoft (and Linux) environments
- Knowledge of threat migration techniques such as DOS, DDOS and malware
- Using ITIL tools for updating call records for the tracking and resolution of escalated issues

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

- Microsoft Windows server 2000 / 2003 / 2008
- Microsoft Exchange Server
- Multi tenant Exchange environments
- Virtualisation technologies (including VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V)
- Linux Redhat Server
- MessageLabs (Symantec Cloud)
- Syslog Server deployment and analysis
- Microsoft WSUS Server or SCCM
- Server build standards
- Symantec SIM
- Certified Ethical Hacker / Licensed Penetration Tester
- CISSP / CCSP / CCSE
- Use of scripting languages
- Support of firewall technology, preferably Fortigate, CheckPoint and Cisco ASA

Key Levels of Experience;

- 3-5 years experience in Data Centre service departments
- Knowledge of implementations projects
- Proven communication skills
- Experience in production of documentation and procedures
- Understanding of government security requirements

Key Knowledge in the IBM Tivoli products;

- ISDM
- ITCAM for MS Apps
- ITNM/Omnibus
- TADDM
- TEM Lifecycle
- TPC Standard Edition

- Hardware Technologies;

- IBM Servers x3650 amd x3850's
- IBM storage V7000
- IBM tape libraries TS3310's
- IBM VTL TS7650G
- Cisco

The suitable candidate will be SC cleared or be willing to go through and obtain SC clearance.
