Senior SQL Database Administrator

Our client is worldwide company with a vacancy in their Southampton office for a Senior SQL Database Administrator.

Requirements…

You will need to have solid SQL Server Database Administration experience coupled with strong T-SQL skills
Possess Microsoft Certification in SQL Server (i.e. MCDBA/MCITP)

Experience managing MS SQL 2000/2005/2008 with VLDB
Able to create and optimise stored procedures
Knowledge of monitoring performance and capacity
Practical experience in managing internal and external MS SQL database security
Good understanding of Microsoft Networking and Windows Server 2003/2008
Experience of 3rd party vendor tools would be an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – will be comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers

The Role…

Salary is up to £45’000 per annum, 22 days holiday (rising), contributory pension scheme, free onsite parking, opportunities for future progression.
Maintaining and supporting production MS SQL database servers
Monitoring and improving system performance to ensure availability and performance of databases
Work to ensure associated hardware resources are allocated to the databases, ensure high resilience and performance
Modification and manipulation of live transactional data
Production and upkeep of database documentation and diagrammatical information
Assist with the analysis and design of database solutions.
Implement and release database changes
