Systems Helpdesk Team Leader
THE JOB:
Advising the IT team of necessary changes to operational systems and procedures to ensure maximum availability and efficiency at all times.
Planning
Evaluation of relevant new equipment, technologies and Software updates and how they can be implemented to improve the efficiency of the business. Implementation of systems and procedures to ensure that faults are rectified in a timely manner.
Operation
Summarised as follows -
Setting up and maintaining Internal and external e-mail systems, user accounts and groups across multiple applications including Exchange 2007 and Active Directory. Maintaining of all remote staff ADSL lines and Routers, head office leased lines and data communication systems. Upgrading of Network Cabling, Ethernet Switches, Network Hubs. Upgrading of PC's including hard drives, memory, CPU's, graphics cards and operating systems and installed software. Provide hardware and software support to resolve any technical problems arising on the local and wide area network for all staff. Logging and keeping records of customer/employee queries
Updating self-help and procedure documentation so Help desk and also end users can look to resolve issues/perform tasks more efficiently Recommend areas where current technology and systems can be improved upon and implement a solution as and when required. Any other duties to assist the Systems Help desk Team Leader and IT Department.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate must possess good communication skills and be capable of communicating and problem solving over the phone. The person MUST have good Technical Knowledge, Skills and experience of:
- PC setup and configuration
- Microsoft W Wndows XP/7 - Installation, Configuration and Trouble Shooting
- Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010
- Microsoft Exchange 2007 -
- Active Directory
- SQL 2005/2008
- VMWare VSphere 4
The Person would ideally have knowledge, skills and/or experience of one or more of the following:
- VPN's and remote networking
- Reservation Systems
- Anti virus and content filtering
- MAC OS
