The Role:
We're looking for an Analyst Programmer / Technical Consultant to work for the world's largest independent provider of legal software.
The role is primarily a development position, and requires experience with a .Net language and HTML to develop customisations that integrate with SQL databases. However the role is also a Client facing position where you will train the client, define the specification for the software and handover the final product.
You will work with the client or Business Analyst to get an overview of the requirements, before discussing the options around those requirements and providing completed and tested work for the Client to review. You will also provide relevant training on the software to the client, and will continuously liaise with the Project Manager about progress throughout the duration of the project.
Occasional travel will be required in the role as you will be expected to provide on-site service when required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Analyst Programmer / Technical Consultant role will be a degree educated (IT or Computer Science) and results-focused individual, possessing strong communication, organisational and analytical skills plus a good understanding of IT and Financial markets. You'll be an excellent problem solver, able to instinctively grasp new technologies, and you'll naturally interact with all different levels of clients and staff, technical and non-technical.
It's essential that you possess Net development experience (ASPX/XML/HTML/C#) plus Visual Basic/VBA scripting. You'll also be well versed with Web services/APIs and competent with Microsoft SharePoint, SSIS and SSRS.
Essential skills required:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience with SQL Server / Programming
- Working experience in medium to large firm Windows environment
- Ability to monitor work, recognise issues & escalate to management in a timely manner
- Strong IT credentials, with the ability to provide practical and efficient solutions to client requirements
- Motivated, ability to operate with minimal supervision and a self-starter
