A Web Developer is required to join a busy ecommerce production team. The successful applicant will enjoy a wide range of web related tasks.

The jobholder will be responsible for applying Brand designs and developments to the Websphere Commerce ecommerce systems. The jobholder must be able to hand-code XHTML & CSS Templates to Web Standards. The jobholder must be able to build web pages to a high standard with Usability and Accessibility guidelines in mind. Embedding Flash into Web Pages, and an exposure to JQuery Libraries is an advantage. Production of HTML rich media email content is also a requirement.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

*Responsible for implementing and maintaining design developments for Brands and the corporate sites.
*Responsible for quality assurance of aforementioned websites and ensuring these adhere to best practices for usability and accessibility
*Need to utilise established working practices and operational procedures for the e-commerce web development team and contribute and develop these as required
*Reports directly to Ecommerce Production Manager

Skills & Knowledge Required:

The jobholder will be highly focused, able to use their own initiative and independent thinking to manage day-to-day priorities within the ecommerce development team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the role will involve liaising with brand representatives to establish requirements and to implement the design and development required for customer facing e-commerce and static sites. Excellent communication and team skills are essential; experience of working on transactional websites and content management tools including IBM Websphere Commerce, and email marketing is also desirable.

Technical Skills

*Proven experience in Javascript and Jquery
*Hand coded HTML, XHTML, CSS to accessibility and web standards guidelines
*Ability to convert XHTML templates using Velocity code to integrate into in-house CMS tool..
*Knowledge of JavaScript DOM scripting
*Good experience of working with JavaScript libraries (particularly jQuery)
*Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Fireworks and Dreamweaver
*In depth understanding of DOM model, W3C compliance, web usability and accessibility.
*Experience in flex
