SQL Server Database Administrator / DBAs - Competitive salary
We are currently seeking 2 x SQL Server Database Administrators / DBAs for a leading organisation based near Chester. The DBAs will have either an operational or development focus and will have the following responsibilities;

Analysis and Design - responsible for providing the analysis and design of database solutions.
Maintenance and Administration - responsible for all aspects of database administration and maintenance.
Programming - responsible for all aspects of database development in adherence with Data Team standards.
Unit Testing - responsible for testing their own code and, when required, their colleagues code at a unit test level.
Release and Change - responsible for the roll-out of database changes in accordance with formalised change management procedures.
Data Transformation and Migration - responsible for building data transformation and migration packages
Documentation - responsible for commenting their code and where required producing formal documentation to accompany a piece of work.
Estimating - responsible for providing the development manager with estimates for work requests.
Investigation and Troubleshooting - responsible for investigating and troubleshooting all database related issues including performance management.
Peer reviewing - responsible for assessing the work produced by other members of the database team including developer designed database schemas.

The candidate will have the following essential skills
*Strong working knowledge of administration and development of Relational databases/SQL, including analysis, design and implementation.
*Strong working knowledge of SQL Server disaster recovery techniques.
*Strong working knowledge of SQL Server security. methodologies.
*Good understanding of quality practices.
*Good knowledge of industry best practices, techniques, tools and resources.
*Demonstrable practical application of writing T-SQL coding.
*Strong working knowledge of SQL Server database backup/restore.
*Strong working knowledge of SQL Server database security admin.
*Strong working knowledge of SQL Server database troubleshooting.
*Working knowledge of SQL Server SSIS.

The candidate will have the following desirable skills.
*Knowledge of SQL Server SSRS & SSAS.
*Working knowledge of SQL Server DTS.
*Working knowledge of SQL Server database performance monitoring and tuning.
*Knowledge of SQL Server applications unit and systems testing.
*Knowledge of SQL Server replication.
*Sound working knowledge of data transformation and migration techniques
