A vacancy has arisen in a Litigation department for a senior solicitor to
carry out a mixture of non-contentious and contentious construction
work but primarily to develop the construction practice in York

The aim is to develop the firm’s construction practice principally but not
exclusively in Yorkshire. This will involve experience and skill in
business development. Help and assistance will be given by the
Construction team in other offices as required but the aim will
be to develop a stand-alone team in the medium term servicing the
firm’s expanding construction practice in this area. It is anticipated
that non-contentious and possibly contentious work will be
undertaken as part of the development of the team with assistance
from other offices as needed.

At least 6 years’ PQE in construction law and substantial experience
of business development is required.

Honours degree in Law, or Honours degree in other discipline with completion of the
Common Professional Examination
Legal Practice Course
Successful completion of a Training Contract and all related training
Member of the Law Society / Current Law Society practising certificate
At least 6 years’ PQE in construction law.
Substantial business development experience

Experience of developing a construction law practice would be desirable
