Description		NPD Technologist Location: South West Salary: 20k � 30k (depending on experience) Our client is a leading contract manufacturer based in the south west of the UK. In an ever expanding market this family owned business is at the forefront of their market, delivering both contract packaging solutions for some of the UK�s leading food manufacturers as well as developing its own range of products for the service sector. This growing company invests heavily to ensure that with state of the art technology and their vast processing facilities they can continue lead from the front offering flexibility at the highest of standards to the customer. An exciting opportunity has now arisen to join their technical team in the position if NPD Technologist. Due to the nature of the business this role will involve working with a huge range of products. Therefore a passion for all types of food and a natural flair for creativity are going to be essential. Reporting to the technical manager the extent to which you are responsible for site NPD activity will depend on experience; however for the right candidate this represents a fantastic opportunity to lead the innovations department. Working from concept through to launch you will liaise with both the raw material suppliers and customers, support factory trials, as well as aiding in the day to day operation of the technical department. The successful candidate will be required to have the following: � Relevant experience in a development/technical capacity with a minimum of two years experience. � A proactive, can do attitude and a willingness to work closely with other departments when required. � A naturally personable approach with the communication skills to effectively provide support and assistance to the customer. You will be writing product specifications, so knowledge of HACCP, BRC requirements and food legislation would be a valuable advantage, but this is not essential. In a similar sense, experience of pasturisation processes and a background in either dairy or desserts would be a useful addition to your application.
