Manufacturing Customer Service Manager

My client is a highly successful manufacturing organisation based in Scotland. They are engaged in on-going research and are applying their technology and skills with partners and clients around the globe.

They now have an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Customer Service Manager to join their team. Reporting the Sales and Marketing Director, the role will involve delivering streamlined commercial processes and improved customer service performance through development and implementation of service level standards, operating processes/procedures and training, leading to the delivery of excellent customer service and optimum profit performance across the business.

Key duties will involve:

· Manage customer service activity with respect to order and forecast receipt & system entry, order confirmation, customer communication, inventory control and interface with internal customers and suppliers.
· Manage members of the customer service team to achieve objectives.
· Develop and implement clear processes to deliver excellent customer service performance.
· Analyse process and procedures to identify non-value added activities in order to maximise productivity and profit.
· Develop the aggregate demand plan on a monthly basis for sales and operations planning.
· Develop forecasts, maintain and monitor changes and check alignment with business plan.
· Develop, document, update and challenge sales forecasts and assumptions supporting demand planning.
· Assist in the development of Sales & Marketing strategy and objectives to include customer service objectives, inventory targets, MOQ and lead-time objectives.

Significant experience of working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is essential as is experience of managing a team. Strong experience of supply chain management is also required.
