Safety Officer & System Auditor
Purpose of Role:
To ensure all activities, product and services comply with OH&S, Quality and Environmental legislation & to take ownership of Risk Assessments
Key Accountabilities:
Promotion of OH&S
Risk assessments completed to schedule,
Relevant control measures in place and communicated,
Safe and accident free workplace
Business Internal Auditing
Audit processes carried out in a timely and effective way
Corrective actions recommended
Contribute towards the development of performance improvement procedures
Effective training on OH&S/Quality and Environmental requirements
Procedures reflect best practice requirements (current and new legislation
Data Analysis
Accurate data and reports as required
Succinct and clear written reports/actions
Key Internal Relationships:
Compliance Engineer, Quality Engineers, Production Operators, RMA Technicians, Production Managers, Operations Manager, Engineering Teams
Key Challenges:
Making sure audits / risk assessments happen in a timely/effective way (despite other business pressures), able to challenge current status quo in a proactive/constructive way
Person Specification:
Confident communicator (written/verbal), good eye for detail, tenacious, able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision, improvement focused, accurate/methodical, good prioritisation skills
Qualifications and experience
Background in Manufacturing desirable
2 – 3 years experience of auditing
NEBOSH National Certificate (or prepared to work towards one)
Working knowledge of OH&S and Environmental legislation/requirements
Presentation skills
Understanding of Quality techniques/terminology
Trained ISO9001 & ISO14001 Auditor
Working knowledge/understanding of OHSAS18001 & ISO14001
