Project Engineer

Purpose of Role:
Working with process engineering, manufacturing operations, equipment support and external vendors to design, develop and implement new capital equipment for production processes.

Key Accountabilities:
• Product Requirement Specification
1. ‘PRS’ accurately defining all aspects of the equipment requirement
• Project planning
1. Comprehensive timing plan covering all aspects of equipment development, testing and commissioning
• Design sign-off
1. Approval of vendor design proposal (mechanical and software) for equipment prior to manufacture
• Factory Acceptance Testing
1. Sign-off of the equipment at vendors facility against PRS
• Site Acceptance Testing
1. Sign-off of the equipment at production facility against PRS
• Training
1. Hand over of equipment to process engineering & operations including training of process owner and operator

Key Challenges:
Working with processes where tolerances/size are much tighter than within a typical manufacturing environment.

• Flexible and responsive to business needs.
• A confident communicator with a keen eye for detail.
• Highly accurate and methodical, tenacious when necessary.
• Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision with good prioritisation skills.
• Motivated & decisive, improvement focused, inquisitive and questioning, data driven & energetic.

Qualifications and experience
• Engineering Degree preferable but not essential.
• 2– 5 years experience of Manufacturing/Engineering work preferably within the semi conductor industry.
• Working knowledge of problem solving techniques e.g. (6 Sigma)
• Data analysis skills - experience of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Experience in managing complex capital equipment projects.
