Quality Team Leader
Acorn Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Quality Team Leader for a global manufacturing business in North Bristol. You will report directly to the Quality Manager and will be responsible for 7 Quality Technicians.
Job Purpose
To deputise for the Quality Manager as required.
To drive the Company towards a customer focused Quality Culture.
To support the development of an effective the Quality Department.
To be the first point of contact for the Quality Technicians to help resolve day-to-day issues.
To facilitate and coordinate the customer concerns handling process ensuring all areas of the business take ownership of and are supported with customer concerns resolution originating from their area.
To manage an internal audit program along with leading/conducting Quality Management Systems Audits to TS16949:2009.
Responsibilities
To deputise for the Quality Manager as and when required.
To deploy and embed the customer concerns handling process into the organisation obtaining the participation and buy-in of all key internal and external stakeholders
Acting as a coordinator for customer concerns as they come into the business ensuring process owners get the appropriate level of guidance to own, progress and close out the concerns relevant to their area.
Support the development and running of an internal Quality audit program, conducting and leading audits as required to satisfy the requirements of TS16949:2009.
To promote and encourage the use of Non-Conformances as a preventative quality tool.
To be responsible for the Team Leadership and Management of the Quality Inspection function.
To become, and to remain, technically expert in the field of tolerance rings and any other products the company develops.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
The role requires a person educated to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with:-
A current IRCA qualification as a Lead Auditor with experience auditing to ISO 9001
Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing people at all levels across the organization
Good People Management/Team Leadership skills
Good customer facing skill, capable of dealing with the customer, face to face, by email and telephone.
Ability to prioritise personal and team workloads, working from own initiative with minimal supervision
The role desires a person with
Experience of auditing to TS16949
A positive approach towards the Environment, Health and Safety ideally with experience working in an ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 environment
Experience of working in a Quality discipline in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute
Communications and Working Relationships
Works closely with the Quality, EHS and Operations teams
Working closely with other team leaders to integrate Quality into their daily activities
Developing Inspection to be supportive and reactive to customer needs
Builds relationships between Quality department and the Customer
Key Result Areas
Appropriate development and management of Quality Inspection Team members and their performance
Development of quality department activities - QMS audits, Quality accountability integrated into to the production teams where appropriate
Ensuring response to the customers needs to agreed time scales
To act as the eyes and ears of the site management team relating the effectiveness of the Business Management System.
