Project Surveyor (Topographical Surveying/Rail industry)
Project Surveyor x2 - topographical surveying - understanding of the OS active network - understanding of data processing strategies - rail industry - based near Glasgow - salary £21 - 28K
We are looking for two Project Surveyors who are conversant with topographical surveying, including the use of the latest Total Stations, data collection of both Static and RTK GPS surveys, Route Clearance surveys, deformation surveys, elevation surveys and track setting out.
Candidates for the positions of Project Surveyors (Topographical Surveying) must also have a sound understanding of the OS active network and its suitability in the production of large scale GPS based survey control networks.
You should have a sound understanding of data processing strategies using an industry recognised data processing package.
The ideal candidate for the position of Project Surveyor (Topographical Surveying/OS network/GPS) should be degree qualified with applied experience or HND/HNC qualified with experience specifically in the rail industry.
Experience of managing smaller contracts, the supervision of junior staff on site and knowledge of operational railway and associated safety matters is essential.
The Project Surveyor (Topographical Surveying/Rail industry) will be expected to deliver specific survey related projects
Day to day duties of the Project Surveyor (Topographical Surveying/Rail industry) will include:
* The technical delivery of individual survey projects
* Carrying out site works safely
* Fostering a service culture with clients to promote encourage and sustain business.
* Enabling the cost effective and efficient delivery of project/contract work.
* Assisting the Survey Manager in the mentoring of trainees and graduates
* Ensuring agreed performance and KPI targets are met.
* Assisting in the preparation of contract submissions and method statements.
* Keeping records of costs incurred and accrued on projects and preparing accounts for submission
The role of Project Surveyor (Topographical Surveying/Rail industry) will entail staying away from home on a regular basis and you may also be required to undertake on-call duties
