If you have buying, purchasing, or procurement experience working within manufacturing we have a fantastic fixed term contract position based in Portsmouth to start ASAP.
The main purpose of this role will be to identify, initiate and support cost reduction opportunities within the company working on a project basis.
Main tasks will be to:
*Gather internal / market information on each area of expenditure.
*Review all existing suppliers and create supplier files containing all current agreements, correspondence and other relevant details.
*Respond to and challenge all price increase notifications in order to minimise additional costs to the business.
*Review all existing supply contracts, document contract terms and notice requirements and re-negotiate as necessary.
*Investigate alternative suppliers that satisfy the requirements of the business but offer beneficial value for money supply opportunities.
If you have achieved or are working towards the CIPS qualification this would be a big advantage.
The successful candidate will have good interpersonal and negotiating skills.
Have commercial awareness of key margin drivers.
Have good presentation skills and be a proficient PC user especially spreadsheets.
