Salary: £25k plus 15% Performance bonus available

Job Description: Working within the Production Line department of our blue chip prestigious client, through continued business growth they are now looking to appoint a Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor's role will be too support the Production Manager to ensure efficient day to day running of the chosen production line within a prestigious blue chip organisation. The Production Supervisor needs to possess good communication and management skills, be organised and able to lead. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing the team through daily and weekly meetings. The Production Supervisors role requires the individual to be target and quality driven with experience of working within tight and challenging deadlines. The Production Supervisor will be leading a team of approx 12. In other companies this job could also be called Production Team Leader, Production Foreman, Production Cell Leader or Manufacturing Supervisor.

Key duties/responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
*Managing the resourcing and hiring of the Production Line Personnel, planning and developing their personal professional development.
*Applying continuous improvement techniques, including efficiency of the production line
*Owning and maintaining quality of output
*Supporting Production Line Production Manager in maintaining and managing the associated production line costs
*Managing work allocation and line balancing
*Gathering and collating Key Performance Indicator data for review with the Production Line Production Manager and Operations Management
*To drive and maintain production line safety and housekeeping including daily 5S audits
*Organising and driving quality improvement projects, ensuring relevant resources are allocated
*Continually monitoring the quality base on data and fact
*Assessing competence of the team in conjunction with the training co-ordinator ensuring records are maintained correctly
*Problem solving activities using appropriate systematic tools and techniques.
*Initiating cost reduction ideas and opportunities

Personal skills and attributes:

*Ideally be from a production or assembly environment
*Have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory role
*Hold the ability to present and converse at a senior level
*Have an understanding of lean methodology
*Have practical use of quality tools and techniques
*Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - in particular Excel
*Ideally have experience with SAP R3
