MAIN PURPOSE

To manage and take hands on responsibility for the day to day processes and people management of the operation, ensuring all production activities are co-ordinated with daily & weekly targets achieved, making best use of available resources, through the effective motivation and leadership of Production Operatives to continually improve performance and safety levels and quality standards.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Maintains efficient work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; keeping the Production Manager fully informed of any operational issues.
Maintaining a high standard of communication through team briefing, consultation, employee reviews and one-to-one conversations.
Select permanent team members, ensuring full functional training is carried out; identify further training needs and ensure effective training is carried out to maintain operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will come from a Production Background as a Production Supervisor, General Manager or a Manufacturing Manager. You will also have experience of working within a fabrication company and experience of managing a small press shop.

You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

Engineering background, understanding or qualification
Continuous Improvement experience
