Reporting To: Manufacturing Manager
Job Status: Permanent
Job Profile:
Full accountability of the section with the support of the Group Manager, the Section Manager is expected to be an ambassador and role model for Production Systems focusing on safety, quality, velocity and cost reduction. This is a pivotal role in the business as it drives the development of a team working culture.
Essential Skills Experience and Qualifications:
You must have previous experience of working as a Section Manager within a production department.
To be successful in this role, the Section Manager will have to be enthusiastic, dynamic and demonstrate excellent Communication skills, team building abilities, good analysis and decision making skills, along with the ability to conduct coaching of other staff and be able to solve problems and have the ability to build trust with other team members.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable experience of supervising teams in production and will be able to support small team activities in an environment of continues improvement.
You must have specific knowledge of safe working systems, 5S, quality systems, lean principals and Six Sigma.
Job Description:
Section Managers have responsibility for their area and their employees.
The section manager should make sure that all pro-active actions are taken so that no injuries or accidents can happen.
Responsible for ensuring all products are made and maintained to specification and comply with company quality standards.
Section Managers must conduct themselves within the Company's.
Code of Conduct at all times and act as role models for their employees.
They need to demonstrate good people management skills.
Responsible for ensuring effective two-way communication within the value stream.
The Section Manager is responsible for effective control of resources within the value stream in line with company business plans.
Salary/Rate:
Circa £28,000 per annum depending on previous experience.
