Experience/Qualifications:

Essential:

This position requires thorough knowledge of manufacturing and assembly concepts etc, gained through acquisition of an appropriate technical or university degree combined with demonstrable and appropriate manufacturing experience or experience as a Manufacturing Engineer 2, or appropriate equivalent external experience.

Must possess appropriate language and communication skills.

Job Purpose:

To provide technical expertise to design the current and future state manufacturing processes, determine tooling and tool design, and develop equipment needed to successfully and economically produce assigned parts in accordance with engineering specifications and aligned to the Manufacturing Strategy.

Job Description:

Responsible for supporting the manufacturing operation by leading the provision and validation of World Class tooling, processes, equipment.

The Candidate is expected to function as a specialist with respect to a specific technical phase of the planning function and which generally falls within the major areas of planning, tooling, releasing, manufacturing, assembly, test, process validation etc. wherever a specific technical assignment may be needed.

Work assignments may be specialised in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete a larger project.

Develop, analyse and manage Manufacturing / Assembly Projects.

Assist in developing department capital and expense budgets.

Maintains the department capital forecast.

Administer the Manufacturing / Assembly NPI process to ensure that Engineering drawings are released and processed on time for NPI build.

Deliverables include coordinating APQP Activities and Documentation for the assigned Value Streams.

Train new Engineers and develops training programs.

Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including: ergonomic / safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.

Work with internal and external suppliers to develop and manage projects to ensure efficient and cost effective systems and processes to produce quality products.

Provide the application, procurement, processing, installation and validates capability of new Manufacturing / Assembly processes & equipment.

Job Details:

Design, develop and implement the integration of manufacturing systems including factory control software, scheduling techniques, 3D simulation and Virtual Systems application.

Coordinate, plan, monitor and report the activities associated with the flow analysis, design, financial modelling and implementation of complex manufacturing group technology cells in an assigned area.

Provide manufacturing technical support in process control and internal certification.

Coordinate the manufacturing space utilisation and assists in preparation of business proposals for rearrangements or additions or complete new facilities that are being proposed to ensure proper utilisation of space.

Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, controls and related manufacturing equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and economy of operations.

Adhere to and drive improvements to established standards, transactions, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.

Salary/Rate: £28,000 - £35,000 dependent upon experience
