My Client designs, engineers and supplies capital equipment such as industrial fans, compressors and heat exchangers. They are a global company with an international reputation.
Their equipment may be found in virtually every industry but particularly in those such as iron and steel, oil and gas, power generation and petrochemicals.

They now seek a Glasgow/ Edinburgh based Sales Manager with international experience of their target markets..

The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing business potential for the Client in assigned geographical territories both UK and European. This entails both the co-ordination of their activities with other Sales Managers in the developing of suitable sales strategies.

Preference for candidate to have obtained a degree in an engineering discipline. However, HND/HNC or equivalent in Engineering together with suitable proven experience in technical sales may be acceptable.

• Minimum of three years in an engineering organisation

• Sales and commercial experience, minimum of two years

• Market knowledge of air movement, aerodynamics and/or rotating machinery would be an advantage.

• High standard of technical and commercial skills necessary in presenting the business to the markets, soliciting and processing enquiries and negotiating contracts

• Ability to work as part of a close team is a key characteristic

• Good communication skills (written and oral)

• Be able to recognise cultural challenges in a world market

• Some foreign travel would be required
