Process engineer (who wants to transfer to a sales position) - electrical or engineering qualification, background or skills - must have had some client contact or exposure - ability to do presentations - background in the process industry - to cover uk but able to commute to a sales office near Leicester - salary £25 - 30k basic plus company car and profit related commission scheme which averages at £5/6k pa.

We have an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a background in the process industry, who has had some exposure to and/or contact with clients to develop into a sales role with a privately owned company that sells and technically supports process equipment into the UKk & Ireland and acts as agents for the manufacturers.

The engineer will preferably have an electrical or engineering qualification and will be keen to develop into a sales related role. This position is a solution sell i.e. the sales engineer would visit companies giving technical advice on problems and situations connected with detection systems or safety related systems (and thereby making a sale).

The company sells a range of equipment and the current role would entail selling/supporting just one of these ranges - there is, however, the opportunity to expand on this and encompass other products after training.

Suitable candidates may be used to visiting or have worked in process industry companies that produce wood, paper, food etc .

The company have been trading since 1956 and have an open-minded business approach and a strong and diverse product range that provides total solutions to process problems and needs. They are active in the building materials, glass, refractories, food & drink, ink & paint, fine chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Extensive training will be given and it is anticipated that the successful sales person will spend most of the first 3 to 6 months either in the office, attending accompanied customer visits or on training courses in Stockholm.

The potential is enormous. Future opportunities could include taking an active role in the management of the company over the next 5 to 6 years.
