Technical Sales Engineer BCP
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join a
well respected manufacturing company based in Cambridgeshire.
Job Purpose
To understand the business, customers, competitors, markets in order to research, initiate,
and develop sales leads through to a successful conclusion.
Objectives
Promote and develop the Bespoke Composite Panels division, specifically developing new profitable customers in large flatbed format digital printing and similar industries.
Contribute towards the formulation and implementation of the Companys strategy.
Develop and implement an agreed Sales strategy.
Identify and realise full market potential of products to optimum profit levels.
Identify, review and develop new products ideas/areas and bring successfully to market.
Maintain, develop and build long-term relationships with existing customers as well as introducing new ones to ensure the development of a successful customer base.
Provide a professional, quality support service to customers (external and internal) at all times throughout the various stages of the sales process.
To ensure a professional, quality service (external and internal) is provided at all times throughout the various stages of dispatch.
To maintain, develop and build long-term relationships.
Develop new business in marine, rail and industrial sectors.
Sales
Understand the business, customers, competitors and markets in order to initiate sales leads and follow-up to a successful conclusion.
Collate all customer intelligence received regarding potential products, development projects, etc.
Collate all marketing intelligence and information relating to market and competitor activity.
Develop a full understanding of our competitors business: -
o Strengths and weaknesses
o Barriers to entry theirs/ours.
o Strategy
Develop and maintain up-to-date SWOT analysis.
Have a thorough understanding of both market segmentation and customer strategies in order to deliver a strategic assessment of future changes within the business.
Represent the sales function to ensure the company anticipates future changes by advising on the development required for transition into future competitive products/services.
Prepare and present effective presentations to customers.
Prepare sales forecasts on a monthly basis, improve their accuracy and monitor the actual sales by variance analysis, taking corrective action as appropriate/agreed.
Identify potential new products and assist with their optimum development.
Discuss new product concepts with the Product development.
Design effective sales and marketing strategies for new and current products/services.
Co-ordinate customer complaints and queries including customer visits and follow-up to ensure a satisfactory conclusion.
Ensure accurate records are maintained in ACT (details of customers, potential customers, cold canvass calls all relevant information including names, job titles, dates of calls, matters progressed, etc).
Ensure that a proactive and reactive, professional support is provided.
In return the company offers a salary between £22 - £28k dependent upon experience, and use of company pool cars.
