Mid-Market/Community Bank Salesperson

The Mid-Corporate Development Manager will develop and implement new business strategies through executing tactical plans leading to achieving net revenue target thought prospecting, cross selling and direct selling initiatives.

Role Objectives:

Core objective: Achieve new business revenue

Set in place a plan of clear strategies and methodologies for all stages of generating new business (from prospecting to proposal to closure)
Ensure that pipelines comply with all business expectations including the following

Targeting right mix of appropriately sized accounts
Pipeline activity turning over quickly enough in line with ambitious revenue plan dates
Have a balance between lead sources from channel partners
Demonstrate optimal range of pipeline stages
Engage multiple channels in prospecting for new business in excess of £10 million
Have a clear strategy on agreed target sectors and with selected channels
Maintain strong links with Bank partner
Utilise various proactive methods to more effectively 'open doors’ and ensure the business is best placed to respond to Request for Proposals
Identify Group/Affinity deal opportunities preparing due diligence for proposal and acquisition in agreed sectors of interest
Implement new referral agreements with new and existing channel partners that will bring strategic revenue towards the overall team objective
Be proactive and innovative in prospecting and forming key referral partners/relationships through existing contacts, seminars, customer surveys and new product launches
Ensure prioritisation and urgency around most important deals in the pipeline ensuring the fastest activation timelines are achieved to maximise income
Ensure a pricing model is in place to support every commercial deal
Engage a pricing model is in place to support every commercial deal
Engage proactively with the Commercial Team to gain specific support required to prospect for indentified opportunities. Always ensure that the best possible cross functional team is in place when pitching
Ensure that all necessary advance due diligence is completed in a timely and comprehensive manner using a structured due diligence in process covering pre-tender requirements
Ensure that the Salesforce tool is optimally utilised to display accountability for recording and coordinating sales activity within your area/sector, reporting timely and accurate business and revenue details to your line manager
Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts, paperwork to activate and maintain contract services and a variety of status reports
Gather and disseminate competitor analysis information appropriately to target potential sectors prospects
Take full responsibility for driving self development and remaining up to date with all domain knowledge updates and developments/trends/changes in the industry and in each of the sectors assigned
Candidate Requirements:

Job holder will have a business related qualification (degree level education preferred)
Previous successful experience in a business-to-business Corporate Development role
Exhibit exceptional track record in identifying and prospecting new business opportunities
Excellence in influencing at all levels of an organisation
Experience of achieving success against challenging targets with complex sales cycle and product requirements
Very strong commercial focus
Demonstrable success in taking personal ownership for driving performance and delivering consistent growth to meet and exceed targets
Ability to demonstrate high level of influencing capability and personal creditability within senior levels of mid-corporate organisations
Experience in operating effectively within a wider business to business sales team; using all available resources in an effective and timely manner
Advanced organisation skills with the ability to structure time and prioritise
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
