Our client is a global freight forwarder, with over 1000 offices worldwide providing an international network for its customers. They currently require a Sales Executive to join their team to cover the THURROCK and IPSWICH offices to cover the whole of the SOUTH EAST territory incorporating ESSEX, EAST LONDON, KENT, EAST ANGLIA and HERTFORDSHIRE.

Working as a Freight Sales Executive your role will involve the full sales cycle. Selling a multi modal freight service in the SOUTH EAST area.

The purpose of your role is to gain new business customers in order to develop profitable relationships, while continuously looking to develop more business from logistics activities. This is very much a new business role so you need to be familiar with this kind of environment, while there will also be business retention duties as well.

You will have new business target levels which you will work towards, in terms of air, ocean and overland freight sales, as well as warehousing and logistics. You will influence product and service development through competitor feedback and rate and tariff solutions. You will continuously campaign to identify new customers, maintain an active database of potential business, plan your time to approach possible targets and following through to contract sign-up.

To be considered you MUST HAVE an excellent sales track record in air, ocean and overland freight forwarding services. You will be tenacious, inquisitive, determined and hungry in order to be successful in this environment.

Benefits

£32,000 TO £38,000 Basic
A Commission of 8 to 12% is payable over and above the target of £90k per annum
