Summary
We have an urgent requirement for a Laboratory Scientist with a background in Biochemical Pharmacology or Cell Biology (in vitro biological & molecular techniques) to join a leading Pharmaceutical company in Horsham, West Sussex. Practical research experience in a drug discovery environment is ideally required.
The Company
A large global Pharmaceutical company with several sites in the UK. This role will be based at their site in Horsham, West Sussex, in their centre for Gastrointestinal medicine. The working environment is “state-of-the- art” in the discovery and development centre. As a foot in the door, this job could not be better.
The Role
You will be based in the Research department of the company, conducting and reporting a variety of cell culture experiments. You will be working in a small, friendly team that prides itself on its buzzing atmosphere and pioneering new findings. This will be an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to further their career in a Pharmaceutical environment, with adherence to industry regulations and company protocols.
This is initially a 6-month maternity cover position, with the potential for becoming more long-term.
Experience
The successful candidate will be a proficient Scientist, with a degree (or equivalent qualification / experience) in a Biomedical Science-related area. You must have proven biochemical pharmacology, molecular or cell biology experience ideally gained in a drug discovery research environment. We would also consider a person with very strong assay development experience.
You must be able to start as soon as possible and be prepared to work for around 6 months (potentially longer). The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, accuracy, communication, presentation and organisation skills, with a strong commitment to working as part of a pioneering team.
