Description		Senior Cell Culture Manager Cambridge, UK Abcam is a rapidly growing business, specialising in the production and sale of antibodies and related products. Abcam has undertaken a major expansion of its Laboratory and Production capabilities with a brand new 20000 sq ft facility that opened in June 2007. The cell culture group is a major contributor to the continuing success of Abcams multi-million pound investment in Product Development and Manufacture. As Senior Cell Culture Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the growth and development of the cell culture facility to support future strategic objectives. You will be an active member of the Product Development and Manufacture Management team. As Senior Cell Culture Manager, you will be responsible for managing, leading and developing the cell-culture group. Senior Cell Culture Manager will also be responsible for: - Developing processes and procedures and ensuring that production targets for monoclonal antibody development, hybridoma production, and cell-culture services are consistently met - Innovating within the area of cell-culture to continually improve the processes and productivity, with full involvement of the team members Part of your initial challenge will be to manage the successful integration of cell-culture automation. You will also be responsible for setting and implementing routine mycoplasma contamination testing and disaster recovery policies. The Senior Cell Culture Manager candidate will: - Be educated to degree level in biological sciences - Have extensive mammalian cell-culture experience including scaling cell culture systems and cell-line development - Ideally have experience in hybridoma development and selection as well - Have experience of managing and motivating teams to consistently meet production targets - Have experience of preparing and reporting KPIs - Have demonstrated the ability to deliver successful research or process development projects At Abcam we require brilliant, hardworking individuals to deliver great service and the best products to our customers.
