The Company

One of the top 20 Pharmaceutical organisations in the world. The Eastbourne site is the company’s centre of excellence for tablet / capsule packaging. It houses around 200 employees and is well-known in the local area for its working atmosphere, positive atmosphere and ongoing training programmes. They have recently installed 4 new high-speed packing lines, meaning that this is a very exciting time with lots of opportunity for personal development.

The Role

You will be responsible for a team of 4 Engineers who work Continental Shifts in the Packaging department. This shift pattern means 4 x 12-hour days, 4 x OFF, 4 x 12-hour nights, 4 x OFF etc.

You will manage routine maintenance schedules and work allocations, as well as being able to handle any problems that might be encountered with the high-speed automated packing lines. Your role will include change control, validation, factory acceptance tests, turning, milling & fabrication, and training your team in all areas of fault-finding diagnostics.

Experience

The successful candidate must have a strong Engineering background gained in a GMP-compliant packing hall, preferably within Pharmaceuticals but perhaps from other industries like Food and Cosmetics. You will need a recognised Engineering qualification and a background in both electrical and mechanical diagnostics, automated operations, change control and breakdown recovery.

Must be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and Internet and email. You must be able to use Autocad or similar software..

Above all, you must be a strong leader who enjoys getting your hands dirty!
