Senior Synthesis Development Specialist - Chemistry - NPD - Metal Working Fluids - Organic Chemistry - Chemicals - Additives - Lubricants - Processes - Permanent - Manchester - £ Competitive + Excellent Benefits

An international specialist chemical company are currently looking to recruit an an experienced Surfactant Synthesis Chemist to strengthen their Technology Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong industrial synthesis experience to develop new products for the Metal Working Fluids division (NPD), and provide plant support for new additives developed.

Key Accountabilities:

Through a combination of existing raw materials and new to company raw materials, develop new additives that can be used as aqueous metalworking additives.
Introduce to manufacturing and implement new to company chemistries that have been developed.
Provide assistance to manufacturing, troubleshooting additive manufacture problems.
Provision of detailed technical reports & supporting documentation to share knowledge and information gained during the development of new Metal Working Fluid additives, including recommendations for new product launch.

Provision of additive detail in PN/Accolade report for Environmental Affairs & HSE Manager to establish MSDS for the product.
Provision of manufacturing instructions in PN/Accolade report for Quality Assurance Specialist to consider in establishing manufacturing procedure for production.
Provision of test data and results in PN/Accolade report for the Technical Manager to consider in establishing a quality control specification for manufacture and sales specification for customers.
Design and deliver presentations to customers.
Provide support via mentoring less experienced members of the technical team to aid their development and provide technical support to their activities.
Record and maintain accurate and complete records of test readings, calculations and data in accordance with ISO 9001 procedures and Laboratory Quality Assurance System.

To be considered for this opportunity you will require:

·At least a BSc level qualification in Chemistry (or related subject), preferably MSc or PhD Organic Chemistry.
·Expert knowledge and experience in an industrial development team, ideally in Metal Working Fluid activity.
·Experience of working on a manufacturing plant.
·Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident when presenting work to key customers.
·Leadership of technical projects, including NPD process and product development
·Knowledge of IT applications including MS Office, Chemical Drawing Packages and SCI Finder.
