Job Summary Our clients Treatment Centre has a new opportunity for a Recovery Practitioner on a one year contract (maternity cover) to join its multidisciplinary team. We are looking to employ a candidate who will meet the standards required by our client in providing a high quality service to patients. Our clients Centre is a state of the art facility and provides high quality specialist treatments in 9 specialities for the people of the local community: Ear, nose and throat, endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, oral surgery, orthopaedics, pain management and urology.

Responsible To Theatre Manager

Key Responsibilities You will work under the Theatre Manager to ensure the cleanliness of the recovery is of the highest standard to meet with our clients company policy.

Skills & Experience The successful candidate will:
* Complete pre-operative checks of the patients physically as well as all notes, consent, results and x-rays.
* Know the policy and procedure for 'Transfer of a critical care patient' to another unit/hospital.
* Identify the need for resuscitation of a patient and knowledge of first line drugs needed for resuscitation and use of the defibrillator.
* Ensure effective and accurate handover of patients from the anaesthetics staff and scrub team.

Qualifications Valid NMC membership

Additional Information Relevant post-basic experience in Anaesthesia and Recovery room nursing or ITU. Experience of extubation and resuscitation of patients. Enhanced CRB
