Description Role: Systems Engineer
Salary: £30,000 - £50,000
Location: Luton

A leading international Defence organisation is looking for a Systems Engineer to join a growing System Engineering department. Working as part of a multi-disciplined team, the system engineer will be involved at every phase of the product lifecycle from requirement to design and Integration and will have an enviable overview of the product as it evolves from its inception all the way through to delivery to the customer.

Responsibilities for this role will include:

· Undertake requirements capture and management
· Manage the functional design and responsibility for significant systems design decisions and sub-system level analysis tasks
· Undertake and lead general systems engineering activities
· Design certification, Conduct regular status reviews
· Manage changes to the solution/design while continuing to communicate the changes to the team
· Manage and communicate issues to senior management
· Deliver to agreed performance targets
· Using technical expertise to solve problems and generate ideas within the team
· Support bid preparation and work closely with other key members i.e. Business development team, Bid manager and Project management team

For this role the successful candidate will require the ability to think at the systems level; ability/flexibility to support all stages of the systems engineering/project life-cycle; technical problem solving; use of requirements management tool (preferably DOORS); experience with writing software requirements; experience of software testing and test strategies

Desirable Skills: mathematical analysis tools (Matlab/ Simulink), system design tools (MODAF/UML); experience gained within System Design/System Architectures; knowledge of EW systems/EW domain; experience of software development
