Description Role: Quality Technician / Inspector
Salary: £18,000 - £21,000
Location: Bedford

A lead systems integrator and advanced technology company is looking for a Quality Technician / Inspector. A Quality Technician is required with a manufacturing quality background to work as part of the Manufacturing Quality Assurance Department.

Responsibilities for this role will include:

· Report to the Inspection supervisor
· Be responsible for the internal or external first article inspection and test of product, assemblies, fixtures, tooling and process, supply chain surveillance activities and calibration of equipment to specified requirements.

For this role the successful candidate will require experience in a similar position.

Experience in any of the following would be of benefit to you:

· Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of British/ANSI Standard tolerances including geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
· Conversant with SPC techniques and sampling by attributes.
· Demonstrate a basic understanding of configuration management practices
· Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of certification requirements for mechanical/chemical properties of raw materials.
· Must be conversant with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001
· Read and understand engineering drawings
· Use the Co-ordinate measuring machine for complex inspection operations
· Use optical measuring tables, sine bars, shadowgraphs, surface finish equipment
· Carry out First Article inspection
· Write clear and concise inspection reports
