Description Role: Lead Engineer
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000
Location: Bristol or Glasgow

A leading international Defence organisation is looking for a Lead Engineer to manage 3 large (Cradle 5) databases containing technical requirements and acceptance information; the Main Contract commercial requirements; and through life support technical, service and commercial requirements.

Responsibilities for this role will include:

· Maintenance of the database information, change control and audit trail;
· Configuration of the Cradle tool - schema definition and extension, user access control, application upgrade;
· Training Cradle users and subsequent help;
· Monitoring users activities within the databases;
· Advice on R&A process and procedures;
· Providing formal documentation and ad hoc responses to queries.

For this role the successful applicant will require experience of working within a complex, large-scale project and in particular using modern database applications. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed with a willingness to go the extra mile for our stakeholders. The role may be either based at the Bristol or Glasgow site. Some travel with overnight stays involved. Training will be given in Cradle 5.
