Description		Job Title: Communications Systems Architect Location: Somerset / South West Salary: �70k + Benefits Major UK Company providing information systems to defence and national security customers worldwide currently require a Communications Systems Architect to propose communications solutions on military and commercial information systems development programmes. The role: The architect is responsible for the development of communications systems solutions and strategy. Including: User requirements and analysis, Technical requirements analysis and expansion, including modelling the resultant processes, architectures and components. Formulation of system architectures. Allocation of requirements to components, trade-off analysis and down-selection of chosen components. The review and authorisation of all communications systems solutions. Monitoring of technology and capability developments and definition/maintenance of the communications technology strategy. Skills required: Significant experience of requirements analysis and solution synthesis within a recognised process framework (eg CMMI, RUP) over many product lifecycles Experience of implementing voice and data communications networks including VoIP, mobile ad-hoc networks, military tactical and trunk radio. Experience of analysing communications network management & performance requirements. Detailed understanding of the requirements management and decomposition process including the management of subcontract product and service suppliers. Technical knowledge of integrating commercial communications capability, products and services (eg WAN, LAN,) necessary to deliver communications systems solutions with high service availability. Experience in defining future communications technology and capability strategy.
