Description		Title Sonar Systems Engineer Salary23 to 28k LocationNorth West Start Dateasap Company Description World leader in the Defence sector based in the North West and specialising in Systems for the Defence sector of the Royal Navy. Position The Sonar Systems Engineer will have knowledge of active and passive sonar processing and design. The Sonar Systems Engineer will use Matlab for data analysis and offline processing. The Sonar Systems Engineer will have an aptitude for operation and simple maintenance (eg start-up, shutdown, initial fault diagnosis) of operational equipment and extraction of runtime data from the system. The Sonar Systems Engineer will work is part of multi-disciplinary project technical team. This System is currently in service, but is also undergoing evolutionary upgrade. The Sonar Systems Engineer's current project activities range from support to in-service equipment and users, analysis of system performance, investigation of system observations and specification and development of extensions and changes to system functionality. The Sonar Systems Engineer will have a variable workload with periods of work under pressure including onboard ships with operational sonar.
