Description Goods In Inspector

The Goods Inwards Inspector is responsible for ensuring that materials and equipment, which pass through his/her control, are:
Inspected and handled in accordance with company operating standards
Adequately packaged in accordance with company operating standards so as to incur no accidental damage in-house
In conformance with controlled procedures for changes to specified requirements to company operating standards.
Rejected and controlled as non-conforming materials in accordance with operating standards.

Background
The Goods In Inspection department which is part of Inventory Control is responsible for ensuring all items received within the Company meets and conforms to specification. The department consists of 3 inspectors working individually but as a team to ensure that items designated as priority are handled accordingly.

The Purpose of the Role:
To inspect all Goods In items to ensure specified standards are maintained, and identify and report on all non- conformance's.

Responsibilities/Duties
Inspection of Goods In items to specified standards, ensuring goods are adequately packaged to prevent in house damage.
Reporting and controlling of non conformances in accordance with operating standards.
Conforming to controlled procedures for changes to specified requirements to company operating standards.
Conforming and complying with all current Health & Safety regulations.
Maintaining documentation controls in support of the Goods Inwards Inspection processes to which he/she is assigned.
Participate in the continuous improvement process and initiatives.

Tools, S/W Packages and Equipment Used
Vernier, Micrometer, Engineers square, Bevel protractor, Feeler & Radius gauges
Microsoft Office, Outlook , company business operating system e.g. Costpoint,

Experience
Must have related job experience.
Must have practical experience in the use of Mechanical, Inspection Aids Electrical and electronic component identification.

Qualification and other requirements :
Must have Qualification in Electro / Mechanical Engineering
