Our client is a social enterprise company which helps improve the ?work readiness? of young people so that they stand a better chance of securing employment upon leaving education in the Birmingham and Solihull area.

The business generates revenue from schools and colleges by selling into them a range of service initiatives designed to bring teachers, employers and students closer together in the regions to help ensure that teachers understand the needs of local businesses better, students are better engaged and employers are aware that the education of school leavers is aiming to better prepare young people for local work opportunities.

The initiative is part of a wider national initiative funded by government and called Education Business Links.

Through a team of ten people the Education Business Manager will be responsible for managing, developing and delivering the Education Business contracts across Birmingham and Solihull in line with national priorities ensuring all contractual targets and outcomes are fulfilled.

The role includes establishing, developing and maintaining effective business relationships with schools, colleges, LSC's, LEAs, employers and other appropriate bodies to ensure BXL's Education Business Partnership services are fully represented by these key customers.

They position will be responsible for increasing the level of income through the development of commercial services, identifying funding streams, tendering for contracts and negotiating budgets for the delivery of Education Business Links activities.

Relevant experience of developing and delivering Education Business activities and a good understanding of curriculum developments are required for this role. Line management, partnership working, commercial and contract experience are also required. Good communication, negotiation and leadership skills are essential.
