Our client, who has sites in Kent, South Hampshire and Wiltshire, is the centre of scientific excellence for the MOD. Housing one of the largest groups of scientists and engineers in the country their task is to ensure that the UK Armed Forces and Government are supported by world-class scientific advice. There is currently a requirement for a warheads engineer, candidates will need to demonstrate testing and munitions experience and have experience in trials and the terminal effects of ammunition

The integrated survivability and lethality systems group provides the MOD with technical and systems advice and bespoke analysis for land systems survivability and weapon effectiveness programmes. This role exists for someone to be the technical expert in areas of warheads, terminal effects and missile system technologies. Responsibilities in the role will include reviewing research proposals, providing subject matter expertise to projects across the internal group and with the customer. The post holder will provide technical leadership, and forge links and network with stakeholders, contributing to long term planning and team development.

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to provide a leading professional contribution, with a deep level of expertise on some of the following areas; CE warheads, KE warheads, blast effects and mitigation, numerical modelling of physical systems and missile systems (man portable) Demonstrable practical experience in the design / testing and performance of these systems is of great value. The client is looking for previous experience of successful delivery in complex senior customer / multiple stakeholder environments.

This is a high profile role within UK Defence and therefore has potential for exposure to senior staff across the MOD and industry. This is a real chance to influence client outputs within this area of the business.
