These are new roles whose purpose is to operate at the interface between employer organisations and the employer.
Using a consultancy approach, LDCs will innovate and build sustainable relationships with organisations by working with senior professionals. LDCs will work at the organisations' premises and represent the employers in that organisation.
LDCs will facilitate the delivery and assessment of learning to employees using flexible approaches. Working with work-based learning specialists they will play a key role in the design and delivery of innovative methods of delivery and assessment.
The LDC role is highly autonomous, requiring excellent self-motivation but providing the opportunity for an innovative and creative approach to learning delivery
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitating and assessing learning
o Design and deliver innovative teaching, learning and assessment through work-based learning using flexible delivery methods appropriate to both National Vocational Qualifications ( NVQs) and Higher Education (HE)
o Develop and deliver coaching for work based learners in the complex environment of the workplace
o Lead customer focused delivery
o Apply sector based and specific work related experience to the design and delivery of work based learning
o Undertake NVQ assessor/internal verifier qualifications
Relationship management and business development
o Build and manage a professional relationship with client organisations at a senior level
o Explore opportunities with organisations in order to contribute to future external income generation and business development
o Identify opportunities for strategic development of new courses based on leading edge practice and knowledge of organisational requirements
o Provide and apply high level professional capability /knowledge in work based learning
Communication, presentation, reporting
o Manage and deliver the contracted service to organisations around learning according to project specifications and to time
o Promote and represent the employers in national and global private and public sector organisations to enhance its standing
o Handle confidential and commercially sensitive information with discretion
o Communicate effectively with organisations' personnel at all levels, orally and in writing
Quality and customer service
o Take responsibility for enhancing the quality of the wider learner experience in the workplace
o Enhance organisational practice to build a culture and environment conducive to learning
Applied research
o Make a contribution to external income generation
o Contribute to knowledge exploitation in the employers through knowledge transfer activities with organisations
o Contribute to the building of a community of practice among the group of Learning and Development Consultants
o Gather research data from client organisations
Self development
o Participate in continuing professional development relating to work based learning
AND such other duties as are within the scope of the spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and its grading
It is anticipated that a significant amount of the post-holder's work will be undertaken at or near client organisations' premises. There is the opportunity for location independent working but LDCs will be need to be prepared to attend THE employers at least one day per week.
Essential
Degree or equivalent experience
Experience of delivering training/teaching to adults at a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
Experience of managing a relationship with an organisation or of working as a consultant.
susstantial experience at management level.
Experience of business planning and delivery of work via staff (including leading teams)
Experience of leading change and innovation.
ADVANTAGEOUS;
Adult teaching qualification
NVQ assessor qualifications (D32 and D33 or A1/Internal verifier qualifications (D34 or V1)
Experience of working in a training function ina medium to large organisation.
