We are seeking a Qualified Senior Practitioner ready for the next step into Management. You will be required to hold a Social Work Degree, PQ1 and be registered with the GSCC for this exicitng Children's Services Assistant Team Managers position based in West Berkshire. Working 37 hours p/w, offering flexible working hours and a salary range of £30,011 - £38,961 including market supplement along with a comprehensive benefits package. The successful applicant will be providing essential social care services to children in need, focusing on prevention and intervention and demonstrating best practice.

Duties
In your role as an Assistant Team Manager, you will be responsible for:

*To support the team manager & provide professional casework to children & their families, some of whom may have complex needs.
*To ensure provision of good quality assessments (including initial, S47 enquiries, core and court assessments), implementation of care plans and evidence-based service to children, & their families.
*To deputise in Team Manager’s absence and to provide day to day supervision and management oversight for a specified group of staff.
*Monitor and manage the performance of staff, including regular scrutiny of files.
*Develop links and liaise with: Children’s Centres, Extended Services, the Integrated Youth Service. Liaise with community, voluntary sectors etc.

Skills
For this Assistant Team Manager role you will be required to have:

*Good knowledge & understanding of the relevant legislation including quality assessments (initial, S47, core & court assessments), implementation of care plans and services i.e. Working Together, Safeguarding Procedures and the Assessment Framework.
*Excellent methods of social work intervention and relevant legislation, regulations guidance & policy issues.
*Detailed knowledge & understanding of the framework for the assessment of children in need and their families
*Knowledge of social work practice & specific applications i.e. attachment theory, enabling change, behaviour management.

Requirements:
To qualify for this Assistant Team Manager role, you will need to have:

* PQ1 Award or willing to work towards
* Registered with the GSCC
* Social Work Qualification (DIPSW or Equivalent)
* Valid CRB
* Eligible to work in the UK.
