Job Position: Logistics Engineer

Job Profile:

This role is to lead Supply Chain and Logistics improvements with particular focus on NPI 400F, Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and to support our Business Transformation journey.

Further responsibility will be to participate and contribute to business improvement projects for the Supply Chain department.

This role is ideal for those with a background in the Logistics and Supply Chain discipline with the desire to develop into a logistics development role with opportunity to progress into project involvement and coordination within the PSEL Supply Chain function.

This role allows for the opportunity to work in a diverse business environment liaising with various functional departments and roles, including a global team including a Japanese Joint Venture partner, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Material Planning, Master Production Scheduling, Project Planning and Control Department, PSEL Product Team and Operations.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

It is essential that you have experience and knowledge of Production Systems, lean supply chain principles, specifically those applied to pull replenishment, Parts Global network material flow, packaging, containerization, supplier planning requirements/parameters, and safety.

You must be computer literate with excellent MS Office skills, including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word

You must have excellent written and spoken English with excellent team working skills.

You will need to have knowledge of experience of MFG PRO or SAP.

Knowledge of CIPS, CILT, IOM.

Competent using MS Access database

Successful candidate must possess advanced analytical skills and 6 Sigma project management principles as a green belt.

Genuine enthusiasm and passion for continuous learning to progress to a more autonomous and independent approach.

The successful candidate will have a 'one team' approach, confident communication style to foster collaborative working relationships with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

Job Description:

Plan For Every Part strategy development & deployment.

Support New Product Introduction in all aspects of Supply Chain in readiness for 1st Jan-13 emission legislation change (Supplier through to POU)

Support our satellite facilities in China and The United States with global material distribution processes

Optimising Production System processes to support achievement of business targets for 2012 and Operational Excellence

Continued implementation of internal facility logistics strategies to Point of Use including CAV, tour ready facilities, simplified flow paths and robust processes.

Landed cost analysis - Supply Chain design and transport optimisation

Integral to the design of our aligned processes

Salary/Rate:

Up to £32,000 per annum depending on previous experience.
