Description An experienced generalist HR Consultant is needed by a leading solutions company for a period of at least 9 months. This role will be based in Chalfont Grove, Gerrards Cross, London, with some travel involved.

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

To work in partnership with designated business unit to provide a professional, commercially focused operational HR service to the Satellite Media Solutions Division. The jobholder is the primary point of contact for the division on operational issues and will become suitably knowledgeable in the business area to add real value to business strategies and on people issues.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES, ACTIVITIES AND KEY DELIVERABLE:

* Pro-actively provide internal consultancy to Business Unit Managers on specialist HR issues, obtaining a sound understanding of business needs and responding with professional advice and solutions, adding tangible value to the business
* Work with HR Manager to develop and deliver the HR strategy for the division.
* Provide Managers with guidance on company policy: interpretation and application, employment law guidance (Existing and new legislation affecting the business areas), including preparation of update briefings as appropriate
* Facilitate and manage the 'people aspects' of change initiatives e.g. Restructures, TUPE transfers.
* Input into development of HR policy and procedures ensuring that they are aligned to and meet business requirements.
* Support and coach Managers giving them the skills and confidence to manage people issues in line with policy and legislation.
* Participate in and support Managers in disciplinary, grievance and capability meetings.
* Ensure that fairness, consistency and company values are maintained and the implications of existing and impending legislation on business objectives are fully understood.
* Take positive steps to minimise employee litigation and assist with conflict resolution.
* Partner with management to drive an effective recruitment process for the division. Assist with development of headcount plans and evaluate effectiveness of the recruitment
* Provide accurate and timely management information. Analyse data, identifying trends and patterns to establish people issues and opportunities. Pro-actively work with the business to manage identified issues.
* Generally provide hands-on operational support to the whole division on a day to day basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

* Proven generalist experience operating at a Consultant/Business Partner level in a fast moving, dynamic organisation.
* Able to work autonomously and manage a heavy workload in a changing environment.
* Evidence of delivery of high quality HR support to tight deadlines.
* Demonstrable experience of managing full range of ER issues.
* Pro-active, resilient and enthusiastic.
